Hamas’s entire strategy relies on a population indoctrinated from birth to see "martyrdom" as the highest aspiration—dying in the name of jihad, killing Jews and sacrificing themselves for the supposed glory of Islam. This level of ideological control is what has allowed Hamas to sustain itself despite the devastation it brings upon its own people. For decades now. But are the cracks finally starting to show? In recent days, and in a rare display, hundreds of Gazans have taken to the streets in protest of the Hamas dictatorship, calling them “terrorists” and demanding for them to be removed from power.
